Battery Grips - Worth it?

argh what do i do ..

£80 on a brand new genuine canon or £30 on a cheap import? :S

Go original - £80 aint all that bad... My Nikon MB-D10 cost me over double that ... But then again its done me for 2 camera bodies so its not so bad

Im looking at getting one in the new year. They do balance the camera really well from my previous experience. the only thing im not too sure on which others may be able to comment on is how they interact with weather sealing.

i got a used one for my 500d from on here and got another for my 550d as soon as i purchased it
the 550d is a bit small if you have big hands like me so a grip works wonders plus the added advantage for portrait shots
also i can go out for a whole day and still not have to charge batteries for the evening when on holidays etc

how long can it provide the power for? Actually, you can buy de-coded battery on ebay, cheap and lighter than a grip.

you can buy decoded lp-e6 batteries of the bay, they dont work in a 50D though!

I love to grip all my gear and it seams the batteries last longer. But that could be just me. When I take the grip of the fells is weird.
