Battery Grips Original or OEM

Looking for a battery grip for my Nikon D600 and is it worth paying the extra for the genuine one or are the OEM versions ok?
 
OEM = Original Equipment Manufacturer.

ref your question, I have Nikon grip which I bought used from MPB, which is great and well made but they are super-expensive new for what they are; the general view seems to be that Meike (and other's) grips are absolutely fine. If I need a replacement I will not buy a NIkon I don't think, just can't justify the money.
 
I had a Meike grip on my Canon 60D and was so impressed with it I bought one for my Nikon D750 when I switched. Can't say I have any complaints at all and although the quality isn't quite as good, its perfectly acceptable. Wouldn't hesitate to get another Meike grip.
 
Sorry guys I meant to put non OEM .
I have read the non OEM are mostly plastic where the Genuine one is mostly all magnesium same as the camera.

I was looking at Meike but was coming from china and very cheap so probably a copy of a copy :)
 
I had a no-brand 5D mark 2 battery grip for my 5D2, no problems with it. It doesn't feel as good in hand, but worked just as well.

But I didn't use it much because 5D is heavy enough as it is. So I don't know if weather sealing or durability is up to 5D standards.

You make a good point in regards to weather sealing as the original grip is indeed weather sealed.

I have decided to go original as MPB photography has a as new one for £79 which is reasonably priced including a warranty.

I have a 70-200 f 2.8 on the end of my D600 and it feels very front heavy.
 
The Genuine battery grip arrived this morning and well pleased with it and its condition and a BIG thanks to MPB.
 
I have a Canon 7D MkII and use a Meike grip on that. Build quality is good, no complaints, fits nice and snug. The only thing I'm not sure about is the quality of the weatherproofing. I've used it during inclement weather at some club cricket matches, where it certainly did get wet, but I did not suffer any problems.
 
I was so close to buying the Meike grip as the Genuine Nikon grip was looking rather expensive second hand until i found one at MPB @£79 in stock and described as New Condition. I have no connections with MPB and it was my first purchase from them but i will be using them in the future for sure.

The Grip was in it's original packing then bubbled wrapped it was then placed in a larger more substantial brown box which had large bubble wrap enclosed for its safe journey 10/10 for packing and i was updated through out the sale and DPD couriers when my parcel was being delivered down to 1 hour via a text.

Brilliant Service.
 
I forgot to mention the camera and lens combination with the battery grip feels much more balanced now.
