Hi all, what's the deal with battery grips? Cannon ones are about 240 pounds some a little cheaper but there's so many other ones that come with 2 batteries and some with 4 and you can pick them up for about 50 to 60 pounds... any thoughts guys and gals

I think your NSFW tag may attract the pervy crowd! I clicked! Sorry I haven't used the Canon grips, I'm sure a lot of the users have a bunch of them in their bags of goodies!

I don't shoot canon but the Nikon ones are also ridiculously overpriced  A lot of folk use the Meike one and are very happy with it, about £25-30 without built in remote control, or £40 with.

Meike works perfectly with Canon bodies at a fraction of the cost and functions perfectly. I know a lot people who went that way including myself as the genuine Canon ones are a ridiculous price. Meike has my vote for what it's worth.

Third party grips all the way. I've had several on several bodies and never had an issue.

The manufacturers are pricing themselves out of the market. The 3rd party ones do the job.

Ooop yes sorry didn't realise the tag

Thanks guys. That's filled me with a bit more confidence :-)
