Final thought - mine only ever had a problem with a 70-200VR. Lots of other DBS issues on DPReview were reported with this lens attached. Long shot I know, and I can't see from your profile if you own one?

Hope it doesn't take too long to get it sorted. I would really miss mine !
 
The 8 to 2.5fps speed drop is all well documented in the manual and published specs. I recall reading about this over 10 months ago when the D300 was first announced.

The D700 drops to 2.5 fps when in 14-bit mode. Grip doesn't change this.

As 14-bit mode is just a figure for marketing and makes no difference that anyone has been able to document, just use 12-bit if you need 8 fps.

Oh goody...my new 70-200 VR should be here soon - does that mean I'll have another thing to worry about? :bang:

Hi Kenny,

Couple of things for you. The D300 Nikon grip is quite superb. I use it with 8 AA batteries and have taken photos every day for 3 weeks and never had to re charge them! A real bonus when you want to take pics and not worry about when the batteries will die.

Second point is I would not buy anything of any value from Hong Kong supplies!

I bought the Lambency Flash Diffuser a couple of spare batteries and the remote control off them and no problems. However, when I purchased the Nikon 18 - 200 VR off them it was in stock and they took my money straight away. 10 days later they had still not shipped it. So I cancelled my order and spent the next month sorting it out on eBay!

I am a new joint .
I'm using Nikon digital cameras.

I used the Nikon D70 and had been tested by the latest versions of each of them did I liked. But now, not after 6 Mega Pixel enough to deal with things and accuracy. I decided to acquisition D300.

Now I have bought a month ago.

Camera is integrated in terms of the accuracy of the industry and the necessary equipment for professional use.

And has been used with a lot of Nikon lenses for the Nikon company.

I think I am complaining of a defect in manufacturing. Is how to deal with under exposure Afloat? As it does not give a true light of the subject and the background of the subject to be photographed. This made me think seriously marketed to repeat them.

Even if I change the basic calibration. Did not get a good picture, even when you change the direction of the camera and the subject of another new lighting in the same conditions of photography.

I am very much regret that the Nikon cameras. Especially Nikon D300 because it No. 2 in the series of manufacturing Nikon company.

I ask of any user of this model. It had a well-calibrated and gets rid of this problem. Request contact me .

The D300 over-exposes a bit relative to the D70 (which tended to under expose)

Turn your Picture Control brightness down 1 step, and shoot with -0.3EV or just dial this in permanently in Exposure Fine tune.

Disable any "idiot modes" like Active D-Lighting.

I routinely shoot my D700 at -0.7EV.

Thanks and appreciation of all the beautiful answer. In fact I am a professional photography. Have been saying all of the settings change on the camera. And also I have a Nikon D3. This is aggravated by the more than D300 . Will be accompanied by a picture of a Nikon D3 camera this picture has been taken without any fill Light from the front at all. The best result obtained from these cameras is in the studio. Give them the best results. I believe the remaining Nikon D70 superior more than D3 and D300 outside the studio.
With this I would ask that we discuss this matter a lot to get to a satisfactory solution, and share experiences together.

Does anyone else get 2.5fps when shooting RAW, or is it just me? I can get 8fps in TIFF, although the buffer fills quickly, but only 2.5fps in RAW :shrug:

You could have the camera set to 14bits in RAW then you will only get 2.5fps, as 14bit makes for BIG files so processing times will be longer.
