Just thinking, i'm getting a battery grip soon, and i only have the two batteries, one generic brand X battery, one genuine canon battery.

Is it ok to mix the batteries? I know that normally you can't mix batteries, but could i? Would i cause any damage? (Just so i don't need to buy moar batteries.)
 
Shouldn't be a problem.
 
one might discharge faster than the other. I always buy 2 and have the original as a backup!
 
According to the slip of paper (manual?) that came with my Canon grip, it's safe to use not only batteries of differing maximum capacities, but also batteries having different charge levels.
