OK folks here goes, I have just recieved an Olympus EM1 mk1 as a gift, it came with 2 after market batteries and charger, I have charged both batteries but, 1 went flat overnight without being used, the other gave me 8 shots before it was empty, I am pressuming that the batteries are no use? there is a date written on them by the previous owner of 6/19 so I assume June 2019. My question is can anyone recomend a decent third party battery for the EM1 mk1? it uses BLN1 batteries, having never purchased batteries before I am a bit unsure what to do, I can get some original Olympus batteries from MPB UK for £16 each, but they are 10-12 years old. I also dont know wheter to get another charger as this one came from America, and I have managed to find a lead that fitted, otherwise it only has the American 2 prong plug fitting. Should I get the old used original or look for something like Durracell after market batteries?. I hope that makes sense to everyone lol

I would guess that with a fully charged Olympus battery you should get around 350 shots. As you were gifted the camera I would go for a pair of Duracell or Ansmann batteries and a good quality aftermarket or second hand Olympus charger. I've used both brands in the past and they are often stocked by the major camera retailers. Amazon is probably the best place and expect to pay around £22-£25 each.

when I wanted spare battereis for my pana G9 I was recommend Duracell . I have had no issues so far so . Maybe worth a look for your camera

Thanks all, I bit the bullet and ordered a pair of Duracell BLN1 and charger for £50, proper cheapskate me lol, no just got a very tight budget, if I get 200-250 shots from a battery, it should be enough for me.

Among my various camera batteries I also have 2 duracell, both work fine.
