Why cant all items that require power just use mini fission/nuclear reactors...

Anyway, on a more serious note, I'd like to get some eneloops as I've heard great stuff about them, and having spent nearly £100+ on Duracell and energizers for my flashes and other things around the house I decided to make the right descsison, I hope!

I can't seem to find any details reviews that are straightforward with regards to the charger unit. I've got a IMAX B6 charger (Used for hobbies i.e rc cars/planes/drones/airsoft etc.) But I doubt that would charge multiple batteries at once. I'm looking for something that is affordable at around £20, auto shut off, balancing etc.

Any recommendations?

if there frequently used or u plan ahead, then good nimhs are better than long life type rechargeables
7dayshop do good batteries

I use two of these...

....with eneloop XX cells.

A decent charger should have a circuit for EACH cell, and also have the ability to condition, cycle and discharge each cell.

I've tried a shed load f chargers, and the powerex MH-C9000s are the best I've used so far. Not perfect... the illuminated screen is FAR too bright, and you have to actualy pull the power cord out if you want to reset (or take the batteries out) but as for the job they do, this charger is the one that gets the most out of the cells, and that's what matters.

Cheaper option, sanyo mqr-06 from amazon. Good, cheap independent channel charger with proper dv/dt charge termination.

Standard eneloops have served me fine for many uses, believe they tend to last more charge cycles than the higher capacity variants.

They do indeed. I have both types... and both are excellent. The higher capacity of the XX is useful for extended live view or video use though.

edit.. the Sanyo charger lacks the extra features like programmable charge rates, specialist discharge and condition cycles etc.. but it is designed to work well with the eneloops.

It does, but it's a very good set and forget option, and much cheaper than a c9000! For most users I feel that the more specialist bits have no use, but that's purely a matter of opinion.
