Sorry if this has been raised before but what rechargable batteries do you guys and girls use for your speedlights?

I'm getting knarked and buying Duracells and as I'm getting more curious about these great little flash guns hence they're getting more use.

I know sod all about rechargeable batteries, so if anyone can recommend some and what ones to stay away from that'd be great.

Info on an actual recharger would be appreciated too!

Cheers

Paul

I also use eneloops and have so far never managed to drain them on any of my shoots.

well happy with them.

I use a quantum battery pack to power my flashguns quick as lightning :)

That's interesting. I use Calumet rechargables and they are fine - rated at 2800 I think from memory. They hold their charge well and I have been using these for over a year (I know because it was the last thing I ordered and they have sent me a letter to say they are going to close my account if I don't use it more often!).

For charging them I am still just using an old Uniross AA NiMH charger (the Calumet batteries are NiMH). Flash recycles are as fast as with anything else and more dependent on how much power you use each firing.

When I come to buy some new ones I will have a look at these Eneloops - but by then something else will have come along.
