I want to copy photos on to a USB memory stick so my sister can can view them on her 40'' Sony tv. I want to reduce the file size so they load faster on her tv I've got Photoshop CS3. I did a practice run(batch processing) on a few images but I seem to be doing something wrong. Photoshop is a steep learning
curve for me, any ideas.

what make of camera do you shoot with, if its a canon have you got the disc with DPP on it, I use this alot for batch processing specially making files smaller

Hi
Not sure about CS3 but in CS6 I do the following....
File>Scripts>Image processor.....which then opens an options box stating where the files are located and where to save, Jpegs, Tiffs etc. Don't forget to tick the resize to fit box.
Also you more often than not want to keep the same ratio whether the photo is landscape or portrait orientation, so, make sure the width and height is the SAME number.
I.e. say your original file is 4000x2500 and you want the new file to be 2000 on the long side, then type in 2000 in both the width and height boxes and it will be a new size of 2000x1250
Hope this helps

Another worth looking at is eazy thumbnail, free easy and quick.

I use a Canon 30D. Even at high quality jpeg the files are not that big. I've just
tried them without resizing on my own 46'' tv with no problem. I'll just leave them as they are. I'll have another go at the Photoshop batch processing procedure. Thanks for your replies.

irfanview is a free image viewer/conversion tool. its really easy to use and has much better resizing capabilities compared to photoshop i.e. you can resize to longest/shortest size to a certain pixel length plus keep it all in aspect ratio. and its free. :)
