batch processing in Photoshop CS2

Hi

This has probably been covered somewhere but I couldn't find it.

How do I batch process a folder of images to (a) rename them into sequential numbers once I've deleted the dross out and (b) to resize them for uploading to my website albums?

I've tried it in various ways but it never works.

There are a few ways that you can use:-
File - Automate - Batch
File - Scripts - Image Processor
or if you want Save for Web you could use my batch processor.

Renaming can also be done in Bridge.

I''ve been trying using the File-Automate-Batch method to resize 'em all but I'm obviously doing something wrong. It opens each file but then I have to change the size and save it! I'll have a look at your batch processor for that and revist the Bridge for renaming -

I have now updated my Save for Web batch processor, it now has the option to use selected files in Bridge.
This means you can use Bridge to select the documents you want and then run the script from Photoshop to process them.

NB: This script is for CS2 and CS3 ONLY
anyone that uses Photoshop CS4 I have written a dedicated Save for Web this supports all the metadata options.

You can do it easily enough outside Photoshop with Faststone Photo Resizer:
