A photographer friend of mine and I are looking into renting a space and converting it into a studio, are there any set ups anyone can recommend to get us started?

Hey Chicca

I've always found Garry Edwards who works with Lencarta very helpful. I've bought some of their lights, and his expertise has been invaluable - in fact he helped me with a problem only yesterday.

I'm sure he'll spot this post and be on to give his advice.

I agree with the Lasagne,

You can't go wrong with a Lencarta set up, honestly it's very good quality.

Very easy to set up, use, all the functions are there and easy to adjust. The studio lights have recently been upgraded as well so there will be more flexibilty with the power output the flash gives. Build quality of all the components are brilliant. The kit that I bought a few months ago came with everything I needed to start off with, since then I have expanded my equipment through Lencarta. The wireless trigger that comes with the studio kit is great as well.

I dont actually think you can get better for the price at the moment, the only other kit I could find was a Bowens kit but that was at £700!

I'd pitch Elinchrom[dirtyword!] in 2nd position, if not alongside, as an alternative.

Not sure exactly what you want to know. Feel free to ring me on 01274 678842, I'll try to help regardless of the brand you decide to buy

Thanks Garry. We're looking at a potential studio space in Bradford on Thursday, do you have an office/studio we can call into?

I will call you later today. Thanks.
