Hey TP goers, I would like to get a reflector to help me out with some portraits. Would a gold/sliver one be best?

Iam just planing on picking up an un-branded cheap one.

It's 1 of those, how salty do you like your chips? Questions , answers will vary my favourite reflector I use in the studio is a white light panel, is it for portraits kids, fashion, pets, weddings?

Intention for the moment is kids and adults portraits

That 5 in 1 looks great, different colours are going to give different results(obviously) and what 1 person is looking to achieve is different from the next, experiment and see what colours you like, I would bet you'll end up using just 1 maybe a 2nd from time to time, I use white mostly and on a rare occasion will use silver

I got the 7dayshop 2in1 reflector(s). I got the Black/Silver and White/Gold, it was only a couple of quid more than a 5in1, you get two reflectors (not just one with a reversible cover) and you can use the second reflector for other purposes (black - subtraction) or backgrounds depending on subject size.

White/silver. Gold reflectors should be banned by law.

What's up with gold?

Too warm, in a weird way. You can always add warmth later with an adjustment layer, but taking "gold" out is a royal pain in the neck.

edit: if anyone remembers those awful insurance adverts with Chris Addison, I'm pretty sure they used gold reflectors there. Just weird.

Xlstudio were late with supplying a vinyl backdrop I ordered and threw in a reflector free for me. It's got black and white, green and blue, silver and gold sleeves and the dish itself is translucent so can be used as a modifier. Not sure how much it actually costs but it's pretty nifty.

20 quid. Can't go wrong at that price.
