Yes
tried to get some landscape sunset pics the other night

.I liked the shot with good cloud colours but as expected....foreground and lone tree in silhouette.

so read up on grad ND filters -
should i go for 2stop 0.6 ND or darker ?

MONEY ?........is "this" ok £10

or do i really need to go upmarket/expensive ? £37 .."here"

Would you give you more to play with and I think they are better than just a screw in filter, might be wrong....

thanks for a quick reply - will have a look through their range.......

I got an ND set, came with

adaptor ring
filter holder
ND2 filter
ND4 filter
ND2 grad
ND4 grad

They're p type (square) filter so they're square and you can move the filters up and down so you can compose properly, you cant do this wit a screw in type. The kit was £48 and its made by kood, im sure you can get far better quality (more ££) ones but this set matches my gear.

http://www.teamworkphoto.com have the HiTechs on offer at the moment, £30 for a 0.3, 0.6 and 0.9 - see

Went for these (soft edge) as they have a good writeup from people here, haven't had any problems so far, see my flickr (link below).
Did consider the Kood ones, but couldn't find any feedback on them - I know the cokins have colour cast problems, so didn't want to fall into the same problem with the kood ones.

I got a cokin holder & adapter ring from www.premierink.co.uk, the cokin holders are cheap and cheerful but they do the job (for now anyway).

Go for an adaptor ring and holder. The Hi Tech offer above is very good value for money.

Screw in ND grads are useless for landscape/seascape as they are just not flexible enough with the positioning.
