Basic filter collection

This question might be a bit basic/silly but I'll ask it anyway

What base set of filters would you recommend?

Given the fact that I like to take photos of most things this could mean a lot of filters but I'm sure that there is a certain 'base' of filters that everyone should have.

Any recommendations/ideas?
