Sorry to hear about the accident, hope he's soon on the mend and up and about

p.s. Needs a crop off the bottom :gag:

ouch! must have been a big hole, poor guy, hope his op goes well and he's not too sore

bright side - free ride in a helicopter! :D

Yup people pay good money for those:) He got a bed as well!!!

Get well soon.

So remind me. Who holds copyright on that photo?

Good luck Barry. Don't be too hard on the nurses ;)

Get well soon, don't forget, pictures of the nurses.

get well soon!

Thanks everyone! Cheers to Dave for the thread. Scuse the short posts, but only got phone and the connection is pants.
Still not had op, now to eat either!
Tv bods have been and done their bit, now saying it will be shown in Oct series. They will inform me beforehand.
On a more serious note, those guys in the chopper deserve a medal, and a gold one at that. I cannot thank them enough for what they did. They arrived within 15 minutes of the emergency call and were thoroughly professional and caring all the time, they even called to ask how I was after. I also got an invite to the base when I am
back on my feet which I will def take them up on.
I will update as and when (if) anything happens.
Thanks again everyone.
Baz.

Oh get well soon mate, from the accident and our great canteen food :-D

Wish I'd known sooner, been a quite afternoon in the dept, so could have popped up and given you some grief !!!

On a serious note, I'm back in work on Tuesday, if there is anything you need bringing / collecting / etc etc, let me know and I can pop up with it in a quiet 5 mins or at lunch.

If you get your other half to have a word with car park security, they should be able to give her a pass for a week or so at a reduced rate rather than the daily rate.

2045. Apparently its a double diagonal fracture and also a broken foot! (dont know where yet, but the doc pointed to the top arch) its going to need a 6 inch hollow pin, a plate and several small screws/pins. Nowt amateur about that!
Yes Dave, it was, and the crew feature on 'Helicopter Heroes' Watch this space!
Night shift coming on now, painkillers then tucked up in bed. Think I will ask for something for wind too! (first person that says kite gets it)
Goodnight all, catch you tomorow.

Oh only 5 mins walk.

Let us know how your feeling on Tuesday and if you fancy a bit of company ?

I presume you were air lifted to a field nearby and then Ambulanced in ?

Not sure as Barrys 3 page text didnt specify that  dunno if Airedale Hossy have an helipad

Yep, but it's too small now they've moved it :-D

So the helicopter normally lands in a field nearby and amb in the patients.

The helipad used to be where the main outpatients car park is now !!!

Get well soon. xxx. It sounds extremely painful.

It's another reminder that air ambulances are so vital; which one was it?
