Barry Cryer Has Died

RIP

Another talented man who has been there as long as I can recall.

That is sad news, he was one half of Kenny Everett's genius.

A very funny and clever man. He was still making people laugh right up to the end.
"It'll be of no surprise to those that knew and worked with him that he was telling an Archbishop of Canterbury joke to a nurse not long before he died. That was one of his gifts, making strangers feel welcome, making them laugh."
RIP Barry

Sad news, he was a comedy genius.

As the saying goes.."They don't make them like that anymore" A legend. You've only got to listen to the rubbish that passes for comedy these days to know the quality of his writings.

Very sad news, he was a relic of a bygone age where good comedy didn't have to be PC to be funny.

Some one on the radio yesterday recounted a joke that Barry told :-

A chap he knew lived in a flat with his only companion - a parrot.
The chap took ill one night and collapsed unconscious.
The parrot hopped off it's perch onto the telephone table, nudged the phone handset off the cradle and tapped out 999.
The operator answered "Emergency, which service do you require - Police, Fire, or Ambulance"
The parrot replied :- "Who's a pretty boy, then"

Reading the list of people he wrote for is quite and eye opener, he seemed to be involved with just about all of he big comedy TV names of years ago.

I'm sure I remember him on some sort of panel comedy quiz show but can't remember what it was. If he was can anyone remember what it was?

Ah. I just googled it... Jokers Wild. There may have been others.
