The TP 52 - 2025 Barney's 52 for 25

Thanks for the kind words, Much appreciated!

Week 48 - Abstract

I started off with a tealight in a box with a bit of red film over the front

Week 48.jpg

I then switched off the lights and used the glow from the box to light a bag handle

Week 48-3.jpg

I found a bit of buffalo horn that I had got for the dog and decided on that

That's a great choice Wayne. I like hearing about the your process as well.

Thanks Bill,

I had a happy hour messing about with the set up, what intrigued me was when the purple highlights popped up on the gold chains, I rushed around to find something black. The only thing I could find was the dogs chew. :) I could not believe how the light changed when I got to 4, 6, 8, 10 seconds. I could change the ratio of purple and red by slight angular adjustments.

I like this one as well with a bit more red on it, burning into yellow in places.

Great set Wayne! It's sometimes nice to just dive into the rabbit hole and play for a while.

Thanks Paul,

great fun!

Great light on the key shot, love the age showing on the wood. Great colour on the dog chew, especially like the colour streaks, quite an unusual subject. (y)
Like you I`ve been messing about with the abstract theme this morning, main take away was being reminded that reflective surfaces and dust are a pain :)

Dog snarling trying to get the chew was my main problem. Ha Ha

week 49 - high contrast

Didnt take this shot specifically for this week but thought it might squeeze in for the topic.

That works... though I have no idea what they are.
They are some weird fruit Paul, I spotted some in a supermarket landscaping set up when stuck in a traffic jam, and made a mental note to go back and get some. when I went for a walk the other morning I saw it again, they are 10-12mm diameter, white and very soft, almost like foam. Likewise I don't know what they are, but I have not looked it up either. Could be the plant itself or some kind of infection. I thought they would photograph nice in black and white, and pleased I managed to make a round thing look round.

Snowberries perhaps? Never seen them so sparce on each twig before.

They look the one, I will put them on my plant list now for handwashing along with horse chestnut leaf, high saponin content apparently. I will test it out tomorrow.

Really well shot and composed Wayne, my type of image.

Week 50 Past

In the past this was a beautiful living tree.

Nice depth of field. The edge of the table at the bottom of the picture bothers me though.

Nothing gets past you Alan, it bothers me now that you mention it, another lazy photo, more concerned with the message than picture I think.

Thanks for your feedback!

Week 51 - Reflections in Glass

A bit of a double meaning. :)

Nicely done Wayne :)

Thanks for all the kind words chaps, I cant remember the last time I had a pint, but it was a shame to waste it. I had a hangover next day. :)

Practice for my Christmas whisky, I still have four malts left from last year, I should open them really, its a shame.

LOL, made me laugh. A little too much holiday cheer for that chap, I think.

Week 52 - New

I think this is me done. :)

A New Day

Nice sky line :)

Thank you all for the kind words,

The city is about 12 miles away and the skyline some where over Derbyshire 40-60 miles away.

Ah, great minds, but your sunrise is way more impressive than mine hence a different take for me. Great clouds and subtle city scape

Pure luck Alan.
Lovely sunrise and not too early in the morning atm
Winter really gives me the opportunity to get there in time.

Have a great year everyone, all the best and I sincerely hope you all enjoy a fantastic photography ride in 2026
