[Bargin] Canon 50D £819.99 Delivered.

@ jessops £849.99 plus quidco 6% = less then £800

Quidco should not be relied upon to track.

I have ordered several items using Quidco and not been paid out.

Me too, used Jessops / Snapfish other stuff, never got anything show up.

I've been with Quidco for over three years and so far I've earned £555 in cash backs of which I've received £513 so far. I have never had a transaction fail to track and, when I bought my 40D from Jessops last year using online reserve and collect I did indeed get my £31.87 tracked and paid.

For my money, if the choice was Jessops at £850 less Quidco cash back vs some firm I've never heard of I would totally go for the Jessops deal. I believe you get a 30 day return/exchange period and it's surely a lot easier to sort things out in a store, if you need to, than to faff around with phone calls and emails and posting things back and forth.

I bought my 50D about a month ago for £809 delivered from DigitalRev.

Also received a load of free goodies to go with it.

No problem about taking it back if any problems due to their UK side of the business.

Never had any problems with DigitalRev ...

Actually, it would end up costing you £803.67 as the 6% is excluding vat

I agree that Quidco may be the better option but I wanted to bring this offer to peoples attention. Not everyone (as evidenced by the above) trusts quidco.

That's where my 50D came from as well. Mine was £832, with VAT and delivery, including a Sandisk 8GB Extreme III CF card (30MB/s version) and the pack of goodies.

If Jessops had been pricing the camera at £850, less Quidco cash back, at the time, then they would have had my business. I've had no problems with my 50D and I know Digital Rev has UK representation, but it would certainly be easier to pop down to Lakeside in the event of a problem than to have the aggravation and delays of returning the camera to Hong Kong for service/repair.
