Bargains Thread

I've been looking at Mamiya 645s and reckoned I could slip one in...

... and then she came in from work and said she had transferred money to our son as he's a bit short for his ski holiday and our daughter needs some for her uni digs...

I'll have to work a bit more :)

Don't they understand that dads togging requirements come first :p:D

I often wish I'd had children 'til I'm reminded that they cost more than women and wheels:ROFLMAO:

My Dad came from Beckenham :)

An old Nikkormat with some old lenses for 15 quid hardly sounds like scam city to me. On Gumtree, that's cars, iPhones and high end digital photography equipment... I've had plenty of sellers who have been poor at communicating, who have turned out to be entirely trustworthy and just a little bit busy or scatty with communications.

(I'm not saying it can't happen, just it doesn't seem to be the typical sort of listing for a scam)

Thanks for the tag Asha... the thing is I don't even shoot 5x4, and I don't think I want to start either lol...

I'm sure it would shift pretty quickly in the classifieds Lee ;)

Lol, didn't even think of that. I'm trying to steer clear of getting involved with 4x5, in case I'm tempted to make the step up to it.

how about quarter or better still half plate seeing as bigger is better:naughty: ..................I might be able to help you out kit wise;):p:D

I rang the person selling .
all sounded dodgy.
i then said i would call over to collect .
wouldn’t awnser the phone.
just had an email off gumtree saying its a scam.

I've been thinking about this.

I've always been very wary of Gumtree and never used it.

There are bargains to be had though.

The bit I'm interested in is what systems Gumtree have in place that alerts them to it being a scam, and what interaction did you have with Gumtree to prompt them to send you an e-mail?

Cheers

this is the email they sent i had no contact with gum tree (except to email the seller) and i dont know what there system is

@Asha would these fit that Ruby Reflex I've got?

Have a look on the back of your Ruby.
The horizontal grooves where the holder slides in ....are they both "solid" pieces of wood from left to right or is there a cut out on the top one about a third in from the lhs?

Will this fit Nick...it came from of my old Quarter Plate Ruby

I dropped that seller an email earlier about the 85/35. Not sure if they want to post though. If someone's nearby it's a massive bargain.

@Kingo46 I think it's a pretty good price, not a super bargain, but visually the condition looks really good. The Takumar lens is non-coated, so could be "interesting" in terms of flare. The case looks excellent.

its not me selling I didn't see the seller name and I'm from Bootle ;)

Why are theae things always so far away.....grrrr:mad::D

There also appears to be a (possibly large format) Durst enlarger in that, too, if @Woodsy is still interested (and @steveo_mcg doesn't snaffle it first).
