Bargains Thread

I've crumpled - two packs of acros and a velvia are on their way to me now. I'm still really tempted by the Kentmere, but should probably clear out the freezer first - have about a dozen assorted rolls in there at the moment.

That's a shame, hopefully you'll get your money back Brian - eBay can be quite good to buyers, although the nuances of C200 vs. Superia might be lost on the eBay gods :(

Thanks....It's a bloody nuisance but mr Cad said he would refund the postage and send me superia 200 erm well see, but for anyone who might be tempted by C200 from them... it expired in 2007, so it has to be very cheap.

Quick heads up. I have just been to poundland on my way to work for some cheap Kodak 24exp. The new poundland was selling Agfa 36exp :)

Me and Brian (excalibur2) were discussing it in this thread on the page before. I'm going to load a roll of it soon, from what I've read and seen it seems to be a very competent film for the money.

In my excitement at finding it I did not read back :( Sorry about that.

Just stuck a roll in the Trip. Will post up some of the results.

No, no need to apologise - I know that feeling only all too well. Just wanted to point it out since there was some interesting info on the origin of the film (Agfa film is always rebranded from other manufacturers these days).

Free film anybody?

http://www.ccimaging.co.uk/component/option,com_facileforms/Itemid,74/

You get a free roll of 35mm or 120 (doesn't say what brand and mine isn't here yet - I believe it's slide film). If you want then send it back with a tenner for dev, mount, scan, print and another film. Or just keep it.

Just a heads up,

Thank you to everyone who has requested a free film. There are currently 50 free films remaining from this batch.

I don't want to breach and terms of this forum so I have added more information about what happens next to the link quoted above.

Kind regards,

Chris.

I accidently acquired another camera the other day :D
Today I found myself driving past a Poundland and I thought "ah yes they do film" so I hunted around the shop and then hunted again, when I gave up I asked a lady that was stacking shelves if she knew if they had any/where it might be, her response, (looking at me quite puzzled) "What's camera film?" which wouldn't have been too bad if she was a just a little yoof earning a bit of pocket money, she was atleast mid 30's and I noticed on her name tag it said 'assistant manager'

AG Photographic have 120 Provia 100F and 400X at £14 and £16 a pack respectively and Acros 100 at £16 a pack in their clearance section

I know not a lot of people like "lomography" but currently they're having a quiz thing where if you answer 5 questions correctly you get a voucher code and one of them is for 30% off any film (Code: QUIZ4786)
They're pricing is not the best for film but some of them have even more discout for order over 5 and when you first register you get 10 piggies (£10 off) any order over £25.

So I've selected some Ilford pan f 50 and for 10 inc delivery its £28.60.

It's probably not worth the hassle but thought I'd share still.

Theres a selection of films with discounts on bulk buys. Mostly Ilford as that's what I'm looking at. Too bad theres no acros left. :(

edit: code last for 24 hours, you can probably answer the quiz again tomorrow for another code since the quiz is on for a whole week.

edit: new code 26/06/12 ACE7786

Good catch Samantha - I'm tempted to buy a few more rolls of the 110 Lomography film, but the lack of backing paper is really throwing me. I don't have a clue what shot I'm on at the moment, although I know I haven't finished the roll because I checked in the changing bag (and probably put a nice big fingerprint on that shot).

Ah good call! should take advantage of the 110 too with the discount! :)
Really? the paper back doesn't affect me. What camera you using? I just shoot till the end when it winds no more then reload :D

Well tried two agfa films and was not pleased with dev of first roll (dev at a shop) and scanned by me, so went back to one of my favourite combos of Hexanon lenses and Asda dev and scan to CD on the 2nd roll, I've also have taken same shots with Canon lens and Superia so that should be interesting, but I'll give the thumbs up for Agfa Vista at £1 a roll 36exp at Poundland:-

edit:

Canon 35mm lens and superia 200 erm well it looks like Agfa Vista is at least equal to 2007 expired superia 200, maybe the superia is slightly less grainy than Agfa but the difference could be due to scanning by Asda or more sharpening used.

Someone said Fuji superia 400asa was selling for 99p at Morrisons, well the one I went to had the film but it was £1.48..still a reasonable price. Also was amazed they still dev film (but once a week) and dev and 36 prints for £5..dunno what they are like though.

Rocky Cameras currently have 30% off all items. Never ordered off them before and have heard of all the negative feedback. Nevertheless have decided to try for myself and have paid via PayPal incase there is any problems.

Just ordered all their OM fit 50mm 1.8's, £9.99 each before 30% discount

There's a Sinar Norma on there for 140 after discount, was tempted but already have a 4x5. Also they are currently on holiday so won't be getting delivery until after the 6th Aug.

Just picked up a Polaroid sx-70 with a non-working shutter, only £20 from Rocky Cameras. Thanks for the tip, been looking for one for ages, and if I can fix the shutter I'll be quids in! :)

Have you got a 50mm project in mind?

Thanks for the heads-up! Not much that interested me but I'm sure someone can pick up a bargain. Don't forget, keep your expectations low and you'll be happy!

The Pentacon Six TL looks nice... but I know getting a CLA for my Rollei would be a much better investment.

Nice find! Gunna go for the Petri 7s II since I broke mine the other day (noob-ly)

Bah, I've just noticed my OM10's 50mm has a little fungus problem was going to replace it before it got much worse. :D.

Don't worry keep it in a light, dry, ventilated place and it wont get worse (and could die if not dead already). Anyway a bit of fungus doesn't ruined the quality of a shot (well maybe it does in theory).

I don't think its noticeable and it doesn't seem to be getting worst but i've taken the UV filter off and just been using it in what ever sun we get so yeah hopefully the invaders will die off but for a tenner delivered a spare would be nice. :D

I might get an OM2 or the like and get one with a 50mm, that way I get a spare and a new toy.

Tells self:
"I'm just buying it for the lens. It just happens to have a rather complex and SLR-like rear cap..."

Just spotted this on the bay
