Sharif Photographic are selling off a few Lastolite 2.0m silver Jumbo Umbrella's at £49 + delivery. Now these come complete with a Manfrotto boom clamp (the format of the shaft is based on that of a outdoor leisure sunshade) and a sandbag counter weight. Now the cheapest I could find the boom clamp was £35 and £10 for the sand bag! The pic below shows the one I bought last week - but not using the Lastolite sandbag - I decided to superclamp the flash head to the 'brolly shaft, rather than the top of the stand.

I understand this particular 'brolly is no longer made (Jumbo - 7923) but given the inclusion of a sandbag and clamp which have other uses, a bit of a bargain (if you need a big one;)) IMO, not had a chance to use it yet, to assess the quality of the light, but hopefully this weekend.

Paul - I take it the clamp just fit onto a standard light stand and not just Manfrotto ones?

What's the quality of the light like? Any examples?.... :)

The clamp is a Manfrotto 124 and can accommodate 19/20/25/28mm shafts - so if your stands have any of these diameters for the top section you are good to go ;)

What I wanted the brolly for was a large 'fill' light to flood both the subject and the background as I only have a tiny area set aside for a studio. I did do a few Q&D self portraits last weekend with a 60x60mm soft-box at 30degrees to the left and high with the big brolly to the right and basically set horizontal and low (edge of the brolly touching the floor). Produced a nice subtle reduction in the hard(er) shadow detail, but not too sure I want to post pictures of myself - not a pretty sight :D
