Most people are on HotUKDeals, but for those who aren't, I thought I'd post this.
I thought it'll be handy for photographers to stick their details on the back of photos, or for when you send the prints to customers.

Also, I think there's a software update which will allow you to print QR codes ;-)

Here's the link with all the details:
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/dymo-labelwriter-450-with-1560-address-labels-100-cashback-offer-111-dymo-label-1049438

DYMO are offering £100 cashback which is paid direct into your bank account. A few of the online stores have put their price up by a few pounds since yesterday. But the deal was, £109 for the printer + papers, and then you get £100 cashback, making it £9!

Will these be sellable on fleabay or will there be too many floating around after this popular offer? It seems a good way of making a hundred quid or so.

Mods - if this is sort of thing is not allowed to be discussed on here please delete this post. I don't want to break the rules.

This deal has had massive ratings on hotukdeals so no doubt eBay will be flooded with the printers and boxes of lables over the next few weeks. IMHO its unlikely you'll make much in way of return unless you keep it for a good few months and then sell on.

This seems like one of those too good to be true deals,

I bought a pico laptop 10 years ago, great price with the bonus of a special offer, a 3 year warranty which swung me over the competition

A couple of months later I got a letter telling me how pico had gone bust rendering all the warranties invalid but I could still purchase another pico laptop because they'd been taken over and would still be making them trading under a different name

With dymo in effect giving this away as the vat comes to more than what they'll get I wonder how it makes any sense, especially as its quite a long promotion

I think it's a bit like printers, the big profit for them is in the consumables. They giveaway the label maker and see an increase in the sales of the label packs.

I've had emailed confirmation from Dymo today that my cash back has been processed and sent to the department responsible for processing the actual credit, so quite speedy process as I only put the cash back request in on Friday afternoon.

Couldn't get the regular labels so plumped for a 450 printer and six boxes (3000) of large general purpose ones for £118.72 cheers for that link Dave. Should keep me going for a few years... if I remember not to store the labels on top of the heater :)

DYMO have pulled the cash back offer as of 1pm today!

http://www.dymo-time.com/Q3UKCashBack/Home/?culture=en-GB

Luckily DYMO will honour the cash back for any orders placed prior to 1pm today but not yet delivered.

A number of people thought this would happen, I know Leo Office Supplies said they had sold a years worth in one week, there was no way Dymo were going to pay out all the way till the New Year at that rate.

There also seem to be a number of people on other forums who abused it by buying in great numbers, 3 to an address with multiple addresses (and boasting about reselling), I think that's why the new page at Dymo makes a big issue about buying for ones own personal business and reserving the right to investigate/refuse cash back.

But then, I'm just glad I got mine sorted last week, it's a useful little item, and with around 4500 labels for under a tenner should last me quite some time.

It never even crossed my mind that they could be sold on for profit. I suppose if you give your stock away like that then some folk are going to take full advantage.

Wow. Glad that mine has just arrived.

I wish I'd bought 3 though. Viking Direct were selling 450s with 6 rolls of labels for £82.01 inc vat and delivery. Assuming the refund goes through that's -£17.99. I decliend the offer of a free hoover with my order.

I've actually wanted one of these for a while. Combine an address database with Royal Mail's SME Print Postage scheme and you are quite literally laughing.

The consensus on HotUKDeals appears to be that these offers can't be combined.

Yeah there's always a risk with cashbacks.

But having read the T&Cs I can't see a valid reason for denying mine. In particular they now seem to be saying it's for business only. Product was bought using my business account at an online stationer and really is genuinely for my business use.

Bottom line - I was considering paying 60 - 70 + delivery for a 450. So 82 with a load of media is a great deal. If I get the £100 back it will be an amazing deal.

Got a surprise tonight, one printer and labels waiting for me when I got home, wasn't expecting anything till later next week. Thoughts so far, printer great, print quality great, software a pig! I'm downloading an update just now to see if it improves but it does not seem to like Win7 64bit at all, have to run it in compatibility mode for XP. The stock label types are just plain weird, I had to measure the supplied sample label roll to find out what type they are, then find it in the list and when I did it will only print in portrait mode.

Maybe I should unpack the instruction book...

/edit I'm a tiny bit concerned, I bought the printer on the 8th but the delivery note says 9th and I've not received the invoice yet, I hope they don't time it after 1pm or I'll be on the phone to them.

Still waiting for mine.... ordered mine quite early too.
Starting to get a little impatient as it would have come in handy recently.
But i'm happy to be getting a decent product for a such a bargain price, so I'll continue to wait patiently :-)

Ordered mine from Leo office supplies.

Definitely doesn't like 64bit win7 though, software will run with errors but won't print, doesn't like Vista compatibility mode either, has to be winxp.

runs fine on win7 x32, no problems with the software at all.

Well it works well enough in XP mode and I've managed to work out how to use the software to get what I want so I'm happy. Even used it in anger for the first time today, one letter address label!

You misunderstood me, I know it runs fine in XP (I use it with 2 machines, one Win7 and one XP).

I was just answering the part where you inferred it only runs on XP.

has to be winxp.

Sorry, I meant in Windows 7 64bit it has to be run in compatibility mode for XP. 64bit version of win7 doesn't have a compatibility mode for 32bit that I can find.
There are drivers on the Dymo site for X86 and X64 but neither seem to make any difference to my Win7.

I have been told by a friend who took advantage of this offer that the Dymo website has been experiencing problems in uploading the attachments for the proof of purchase that is required.

He called Dymo on 020 7341 5529 and they confirmed the attachment had not been received (and therefore delaying his claim) and emailed him to obtain a copy of his invoice as he had not had any confirmation from them.

Yes, anyone with any problem uploading should email helpdesk@dymo.com with their details and invoice.

I emailed them to confirm all was received and got a same day reply last week.

Just received mine. Still qualify as I ordered before the cut off date.

Mine works fine on Win 7, 64bit. The instructions on the site I downloaded the drivers from said you should install the s/w first prior to connecting the printer, I did that and all is well.

I might have to contact the helpdesk, I uploaded the receipts etc ok a couple of weeks ago but have had no confirmation.

I had difficulties uploading the PDF proof of purchase from the supplier, I kept getting an 'Invalid file type' message, in the end I converted to a JPG and uploaded that instead. I also emailed the dymo helpdesk and quoted my ref no. and attached the PDF, I've just had confirmation that they have received that.
The email quoted 3-4 weeks before payment expected.

After an email to them on Monday I got a reply saying they had paid the cash into my account on Wednesday and it turned up this morning! :)

Only got mine 2 days ago  Dymo have confirmed everything is in order and they are processing my £100 cash back claim :D

Same here, email Wednesday and cash in the account this morning.

Excellent little printer and labels for under a fiver
