I'm surprise that no one is producing one, as all the interest in strobist stuff. Bare bulb light quality on a speedlite would be pretty useful

Since this thread was written, there are a few new bare bulb speedlights now, so you don't necessarily have to rely on DIY or buying 20-year-old Sunpak used. Here you go lads:

• Jinbei MF-100, looks a bit like a Qflash with around the power of a normal speedlight
• Falcon Eyes Strobe Gun, similar power but has its own accessory mount like a monolight or something
• Godox Witstar, with more advanced features

The latter has just been announced and there are a few little lighting accessories you can get with it too. It also has remote power control.

Thanks David, I saw the Godox gun on your site, and as going to start a new thread, I'd completely forgotten I'd ever asked the question!

Certainly be interested to hear when they're available in the UK.
