cost @ £15/month

I was paying that just for Boiler Breakdown by General Domestic

but it covers Boiler (as long as it has had service), mobile phone (would be good as thinking of getting iphone) etc. As it would be on a joint account think it covers both mine and wife too

I have additions + which is £16 a month, i've claimed for a wasps nest , and a blocked toilet twice 6 months apart, they came out and sorted it same day, the benefits apply to the account holders so with it being a joint account you'll both be covered.

I think it's excellent value as the level of RAC cover it provides is about £120 a year alone

I have a similar thing with First Direct and its absolutely great.

Travel insurance, mobile phone insurance, Breakdown cover, all for £12 a month. I had my phone stolen in hong kong about 6 months ago, managed to get a new Iphone 3gs out of it. Has saved me £90 pa for travel insurance too, and £120 for AA cover.

Yup I have Barclays additions. For all the various aspects of cover it give you, you can't go wrong imo

My better half claimed for a cracked screen on her iPhone. They sent her a new phone within a matter of days, no questions asked

that's the sort of thing i want to hear, thanks ;-)

what happens when one changes a phone, can you just update which phone is covered etc.?

I'm glad you asked that, I just put my phone on cover, I didn't know it included mobile phone cover, there's an option for deleting a phone and adding a new one online so it's simple to do when you get a new phone :)

What Wack said :)

You do have to register the phone with them but it's simple to do. If you change phone you just let them know :)

They do have a clause that says you can't claim for 6 weeks (I think) after registering a phone. Presumably to prevent people registering an already broken phone

I have just rung as my pixon has broken form will be on its way in the next post
also can now add more phones to the account (MY ACCOUNT MY MONEY) so will pay to add dh's on for £4 a month which for an iphone is fab
Or i could make the account a joint account and add it for free as he would not use my cash .....or would he ????

be careful about the bold highlighted! its better to have a bigger overdraft than £300 and then use the overdraft as it is much cheaper. if you happen to use the personal reserve then it is a straight up £25 charge (last time i checked) for the privelege of using it.
best to cancel the personal reserve and stick with however much overdraft you are allowed, for lifes little emergencies
