What have you all got planned for this coming Bank Holiday?

Any great events going on anywhere that's worth a look at?

I've got the hire of a wheelchair again for a whole week starting this Friday, so I want to make the most of it.

Come on folks, list your local/country wide events :woot:

Looks like a good day out that! I may put that down as a possible too ..

OK, forgive me, I KNOW I have missed something here - wheelchair hire??

As for me, got a charity do Saturday night to which I have been asked to take the camera, but thats about it atm, it will depend very much on what the wonderful British Weather chooses to offer us. :bonk:

I can't walk very far, so I'm starting to use a wheelchair here and there. It's better than sticking to being car bound if that makes sense.

Well I was going to say 'I might pop along to the battle Of Naseby for a bit of skin smoothing' .... but thought there would only be you & I who knew what I was rabbiting on about ...well if I got to the links quick enough there would! ;)

Might trot along to the battle of Naseby in Northants, unless I can find anything else more appealing to do.

I used to live in Naseby, nothing has happened there since, not even the re enactments

Saturday I'm going mountain biking in Wales and hoping to try out my new 17-40L if it arrives in time, then if the weather is good on Sunday or Monday I'm going to head down to the Cotswolds and see what I find infront of my lens there!

Our Junior and Mini Awards day on Sunday, fingers crossed for good weather.

Not sure Monday

If you can make it to North Wales, Llandudno to be exact (Nr Conway), this is a really good event, highly recommended.
Might see you there. :)

The only thing it limits your photography skills at is that you can't just crouch down when you need to take a picture of something low down. Other than that, an eletric one is really great for photography (IMO)

And when someone walks out in front of you, you can't just step to the side and carry on with your shot :bang::bang: You just run them over  No i'm joking, don't do that :)

what coming bank holiday? :bang:

Flatwork (riding) lesson Friday, and might be heading to sheffield after - then home on Saturday (and possibly being roped into snapping a friend's puppy), horse show on Sunday, and May Day market on Monday (a good chance to get practising at street photography - plus a few of the rescue dogs'll be there).

Basically....animals

That's just a little too far for us to go in 1 day, which is a shame because it looks like a great day!

Anyone got any Maypole dancing going on near them? I know where there is one going on (Wellow in Notts), but it would be a tight squeeze for any shots I think.

That's where the hubby comes into use  I set the camera up and direct him to the millimeter of a shot. It take a while to get it how I would have shot it, and sometimes it never works, but it's better than missing the shot

Tony (Techno) has forgotten to mention it Jo, so I will. (Come on Tony get it together mate:D)
There's a meet at Banham Zoo on the the 3rd May (http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=58429).

I can't make it as it's my sons birthday.

There's also a few things going on in Holt on the 3rd to celebrate (?) the great fire. Not sure if it'll be much good but it's just down the road from me so I might pop along with camera in hand.

Lifted from the Councils Website

Saturday 3rd May from 6pm
Great Fire of Holt 1708 Celebration
Did you know that, on May Day 1708 "there happened a sudden and lamentable Fire at Holt…?
To commemorate this historic event, we are hosting an evening celebration featuring period music and dancing, fire-eating, lantern-making and parade, traditional refreshments, Hog Roast and locally-brewed ales by Yetmans, and fireworks
Prizes for the best period costume on the night, child and adult categories
Bring a torch!

Mark

Banham zoo might be a possibility. But the fire celebrations in Holt aren't, as I still have to be home in time for work at midnight. Which again is a shame, because we love Holt having gone on Holiday to Kelling Heath for years!

I'll be popping along to the Hednesford Hills raceway near Cannock for the day on Monday. I just hope my new 70-200 F4L arrives in time from Kerso ;)

Gary

Thanks mark mate  I didn't want to post it here incase Joe thought it was rude of me to hijack the thread

i planning to watch some paint

I've got a really exciting weekend planned...........not.

Have to do our Gift Aid claim for The Stafford Trust on Saturday to send to the Inland Rev.

Sunday will be up at Rescue getting more stuff ready for the Big Walk Weekend.

Monday will be at work as we don't get the bank holidays in May officially unless we book them off.

However, a suggestion if anyone is struggling for ideas in the North West for the weekend is Wray Fair and the Scarecrow Fesitval.

On Saturday 3rd May, I've been asked to be the 'official photographer' at a friends 50th - Yikes!

Bank Holiday Monday, here in good 'ol Nottingham is the 1940's Knees Up at the Brewhouse Yard. Everyone dressed up in wartime garb etc... so should make for some pics. I'm praying for good weather (this is England - it rains EVERY Bank Holiday!)

I'm going to Micheldever woods to hopefully get the bluebells in full bloom, with a nice early morning mist (one can but hope!).

We have speedway on Monday so I'll be at Ipswich from early afternoon. Really looking forward to a full daylight meeting - wahoo! The other half is coming along to this one as well - he has permission to join me on the centre with his camera for all or part of the meeting so I'm trying to persuade him to go for it - he keeps telling me that there's no point because "He's not good enough" - which is nonsense! :bang:

Saturday we're hopefully going down to the South coast to look at 2nd hand 20D's.....then on to somewhere or another for the afternoon........not sure where yet though - the Bluebell Railway perhaps.

Good god woman!!!

On your doorstep.

The 50th Annual Spalding Flower parade this coming Saturday, in conjunction with the World Tulip Summit taking place in Spalding.

http://www.flowerparade.org/spalding-tulip-parade.html

I'm usually one of the fully costumed and made up clowns but got the day off this year. I'll just be working on our Lions stall instead.

Come and see it's always colourful.
