Does anyone on here know the answer to this.
My good wife works in a chemist, part time Mon, Tues, Wed. 9-3.15.
She has been told that her holiday entitlement is 12 days and 8 bank holidays. She does not work during school holidays but is still entitled to bank holidays during shool holidays.
The question is, is she entitled to bank holiday pay for xmas, though the days fall on the days she normally dosent work.

Any advice would be great.
Dean:)

i dont think she is if its not a normal day she works, i will check in the morning with the office tart but im fairly sure thats the case for part time, only if you normally work it

If she's working, yes. If she's not working, no. Unless she's got a contract that says she'll get paid extra pay simply because there's a bank holiday ;)

I am in same boat and the answer is no if its not your normal working day.

No, if she doesn't work on that day as one of her normal shifts, then why should she get paid?

do you have it in writing, if she is told 8 bank holidays, then technically she should be paid for them even if she doesnt work i would have thought. but i know nothing:shrug:

Thanks for the replies guys. It was as much as we expected really. She was told she got 8 bank holidays pay, thats why we questioned it.
Dean:)
