So I've got a gig that I'll be attending, I'm photographing the band before, during and after.

The gig is going to be in a pretty dark and cramped place.

Do you have any tips for me as this is my first gig?

FAst lens or crap lens plus an flash, and you can allways use Gel filter in the flash.

Pretty much, fast glass and high ISO are going to be needed. If you use flash then you will likely wash out any of the lighting being used which kills most of the mood.

Thanks. I'll only have the on camera flash as well so I think I'll try my best to use the lighting at the gig.

Thanks,
G

Don't use a flash.

:)

Besides, the band won't appreciate it, and it's considered pretty unprofessional.

Hey guys,

Thanks for all the advice, I went prepared and over shot a bit getting just over 300 raw images.

Plenty on the band and I got a few fan pics for them (this is the only time I used a flash, as I really had to the club didn't have a lot of light besides the bars and the stage.

I'll be sure to post them up on the forum once I've done some editing and sorting.

Thanks for all the advice, I'll definitely be doing more gigs
