Hi all my first post.

A friend of mine is in a group and they have been asked to appear at a local townshow this weekend, and he asked me to take some photos for them. This is something i have not done before, there is no money involved its just a favour and something different for me to try. They are due on stage around 3pm and i will have asses to the pit in front of the stage and even onto the stage itself. i'm looking for advise on what shots to aim for etc. I have a nikon d200 but limited in my lens what lens what be best. Any help would be great.

MIght help to know what lenses you have available?

Welcome to the forum.

You don't state if this gig is indoors or outside?

I would guess open-air means outside

yes sorry about that i have the 50mm 1.8 and the 18-70 i feel my longer lens sigma would not be up to it so will forget about them. Wonder if it is to late to hire a good one?

The show is outside they should be on around 3pm, cheers gary

Hi Gary and welcome.

Jas's series is excellent, some really interesting angles and compositions.
I took some last Saturday at Arley Hall, (they're on the last page of my gallery if you want to have a butcher's) not as good as Jas' and taken from below the stage. I used an 18 - 55mm and a 55 - 200mm lens which i think worked quite well.

Good luck with the shoot

Andy

Sorry page 2 of my gallery, what a klutz.

cheers all- i agree Andy, jas has some nice shots on there.
