Probably not in the right place so sorry up front mod's (n)

Looking at some courses to further my understanding as the longer i own it the more i think i should learn how to use it !
Found Banbury Photography who runs what looks like some good Beginner type courses and wondered if anyone has taken one of the courses with them ?
Need to get comfortable with manual settings....
I won't link to their site in case i get scolded :arghh:
Thanks Kev

If your in or near to Banbury it might be worth looking at joining the local camera club, I think @Di Stone might be a member there but it might be a good place to meet people with the same interests and I'm sure many will be open to helping you learn

Thanks but i'm about 44 miles from Banbury but would travel for a course no problem, There are local clubs around my area but joined one some time ago but was less than impressed with the atmostphere so after 5 weeks i faded away lol

Mainly need to get confident with manual settings where i don't spend 10 times longer working out what to set the camera on than taking the photo :(

A route to understanding how to get the most out of manual control is to start by using aperture priority and shutter priority modes, noting the corresponding settings chosen by the camera and how these effect the final image. One thing I find when choosing to use manual is that I usually have a pretty good idea about what image I want to capture. This helps to make the first decision on shutter or aperture. The rest kind of follows..

If you are lucky you could find an experienced enthusiast to go out on a few shoots with. You'd get 1:1 tuition from someone that enjoys helping out.

Took my dad on the course for Father's Day! Getting off auto mode the course was called, was interesting for me , but very helpful for my old man! He has actually learnt something for a change and is using manual controls now and has an understanding of his camera now (instead of cussing and putting it away each time)

The bloke does courses across the uk I think might be worth a look!

Just took at look at his site, ummm might not be what i'm after but thanks all the same :)
He's very knowledgeable ( Cheques fine Stu  ) and does glamour as well as nudes.

Depends what you are into I guess?
As above there are also some very knowledgeable people on here, look in the meeting section.
They are always things happening, they are free and everyone is normally welcome,
of what ever level they are :)
