Tell me Joe, what are you going to feed your baby/children when they start putting fluoride in your water?
I am all for putting fluoride in the water.....it will help to get rid of all the industrial waste we can't dump at sea.......

yup, did that and I reiterate

You've said some stupid things in your time on here rhys but this takes the biscuit!

Hello mods, how come I get reproached for calling Scrivens a jackass, and he can get away with this?

well, in one example you are personally insulting someone and in the other example I am saying that rhys has said some stupid comments. That's quite different don't you think?

Also, if you have a question to the mods shouldn't you be using the contact us section or reporting the post and not airing your dirty laundry?

I think that telling people they are saying stupid things is personally insulting, but hey you keep judging people by your own low standards.
With regards to talking to mods, the reproach was public, that's why I replied in public.

well there is a report button, so if you find something insulting I suggest reporting it, the mods can't read every post on all threads. If the mods agree then they'll change my comment.

I'd prefer to get back on topic if thats ok with you

Thanks to this thread I'm smoking a lot more than I usually do.

In fact, you have no idea what cannabis causes really, have you?

Please enlighten me then. Canabis was only reclassified because the government go so much flack from the Daily Mail brigade.

Deaths caused by canabis, directly or indirectly compared with alcohol. However you look at it there is more danger with people ingesting alcohol.

Alohol is one of the nastiest drugs. The effects can be more devastating than any other, but it makes money, as does tobacco.

I am aware my argument is pointless as it will never happen but neither will a complete ban on smoking. It raises the government too much money plus the tobacco industry is too powerful amongst other things.

Drugs that you freely take legally do more harm than many of those you can take illegally.

Smoking isn't the only cause of lung cancer btw, obviously it increases the risks but there are other environmental/chance factors involved as well as genetic susceptibility.

http://lungcancer.about.com/od/causesoflungcance1/a/radonrisk.htm

Believe what you want

I recon genetically, my great grandparents, my grandparents, my parents, and myself, and everyone's siblings in the family, are all in the same genetic pool.

Fact - all the smokers died of lung cancer, or smoking related illness early, and 65 is the oldest any of them have got. For the non smokers, they all live in to their 90's and beyond

Canabis is usually smoked with tobacco. Both are carcinogenic in their own rights. If you roll a joint with Canabis and tobacco, you are elevating your risks from the carcinogens even more

I agree with you on Alcohol, and as I said, if it'd been discovered today, it would never have been available to the public. But it wasn't discovered today, it was discovered at a time when life expectancy was so low that alcohol's effects didn't really matter.
As for re grading cannabis, if you think that the 'Daily Mail Brigade' were responsible for, then can I suggest you stop puffing on that substance. If the DMB were that powerful, then a lot of the countries ills, the EU, the CPS, and ridiculously lax sentences in court etc would all have been resolved!
Anyway, your point was cannabis has never caused a death. Your point is incorrect.

Anyway,. moving back to the subject.
Someone mentioned that smoking was banned in company cars already. Well, no, its not that simple, it is in certain circumstances depending on the use the car is put too. It's not enforced much, no, because the authority that has responsibility is the Local Authority. They have no powers to stop and question a driver, so need Police to do the stopping. They have much better things to do.

Alcohol served a useful purpose in times past making water safe to drink, plus extending the useful life of perishable fruits. Yeasts are all over the place, waiting to ferment suitable foodstuffs, so our (and other animals') usage of alcohol goes back to the year dot. The strong stuff is a different matter...

I'm told there was a Govt study in the early 1960s that concluded that smoking should not be discouraged, as the illnesses associated with it finish off smokers quickly, reducing the pensions payable whereas the "healthy" elderly cost more and more to care for the older they get, and may have very poor quality of life.

lol....shame i wont get to see any more of your posts, say it as you see it bro

Right, if you're trying to get your account banned so you can re-register, I can categorically state that any second accounts you create will be permabanned also.

Just think about your next step carefully, because once you make that decision there will be no changing it.
You're very welcome here as part of this community, but we will not tolerate it being disrupted just because you fancy a name change.

Don't ruin it for yourself an others.

Marcel, how long would it take someone to delete my account, 15-30 seconds?
I appreciate there are rules, hence why I didn't just go ahead and register another account, and instead maybe thought someone might actually just be kind enough to perform such an action.

Obviously you think me wanting to change my user name to match my new photography name is trivial, and it is, but I guess I'm just a little OCD like that.

we could just change the username, but you shot yourself in the foot there by having an epic tantrum.

OCD is the reason we dont normally do it. deleted accounts leave the forum with missing posts, broken links and annoying inconsistancies.

No I didn't, it wasn't going to happen either way was it, ask politely instead of braking the rules and you just get pointed to the rule book, have a tantrum and folks get their backs up. catch 22

Haven't read the thread in its entirity because I have other matters at hand. But just in reply to Joe's original post, I agree about kids not having to suffer smoke in cars. However, banning smoking in cars across the board is a stupid idea, especially when there are bigger problems to deal with in this world.

Apparently I have to give 24 hours notice to people who will be travelling in my car that I will be smoking and I have to offer them the option of choosing whether or not to allow me to smoke. Safe to say, no one has yet asked me not to smoke because they know should they make it to the destination, they wouldn't be getting a return journey.

Anyway, smoking is good for you, just like John Wayne says... :)

So legalise everything, cannabis, LSD, cocaine etc.

Where's the queue? I like this idea.... ;)

No, he's a dog.......

Post of the year for me

Hmmm seems like I missed a beat here whilst I was out consuming another drug, the drug of excellent real ale. Did David Brent say anything worth hearing?
