I'm thinking of changing my slik pan head for a ball and was looking at this Giotto's MH1000-652 Ball Head, is anyone using it ? If so how do you rate it?
I have a 488RC (had 2 until yesterday) but find a pan head better for macro. Both the 488's I've had tend to move very slightly when tightened. Not noticeable at all for a regular lens but with the MP-E or 180L on, then about 1/8th frame shift when you lock them.
Neither of my two pan heads do this.
Doesn't answer your question but may mean that you need to be a little more specific with it.
Hi Bob,
no all my macros are hand held, it's for general use like landscapes, long exposures and telephoto shooting. I find the pan head quite slow to use and I have a small ball on my monopod and find it a lot quicker.
