I'm really sad and do get excited for a moment with the thought of Christmas with the kids. Then reality kicks in November when my online shop goes mental and all the customers go rude and mental also. Last post for 2nd class this year is sat the 19th, so i'll be finishing on the 18th, a whole week before Christmas day so that will be nice.

I don't really dislike Christmas, but hate that they want to start it in early October!

As already mentioned in another thread they taste like a cross between lamb and beef. Foul mouthed is not a problem, just make sure you remove the head first

I get called all sorts of names this time of year as people think I'm anti-Christmas but that's not quite true.

What I'm "anti" is just getting through the summer holiday period and having Christmas thrust upon us 3 months ahead of schedule.

I upset my Mum's best friend last year as I put a status on facebook poking fun at the muppet who has their Christmas tree up in October only to be told she would be putting hers up in the next few days (called her a muppet too ).

My point is this..... Christmas is a special time of year, especially now Evie is 16 months old and does enjoy opening presents etc, however I feel that this "special time" is being completely diluted by spreading it over the best part of 3 months. By the time the actual event arrives I'm sick of the sight & sound of everything Christmas related.

Yes, I accept people like to plan ahead and start Christmas shopping in September, that's perfectly fine but that doesn't mean we need Christmas displays and music at the same time.

If we held back on the festivities until 1st December surely that would make it a lot more special?

Especially those, like you, with young kids, it must be confusing for them having to wait a further quarter of the year, for the fat bloke in the red suit to make an appearance.

I guess from a personal perspective, I have a very close family (not just in the literal sense of living 7 doors away from my parents) and we only need the slightest excuse to get together

Christmas just adds an extra layer of complexity as my MiL has never had to "share" Christmas and expects to spend the whole day with Mrs Russ77 which isn't always possible.

Another factor is that December is Birthday Season in our family which close family/friends Birthdays on..... 5th, 15th, 19th, 24th, 25th, 28th and then another on 3rd Jan..... delightful or what!
