Hey guy's I have been going crazy trying to decide which bag to get, I've been looking for a bag for Wedding photography and general everyday that allows me to carry my essentials, I want a bag that can be accessed quickly but is big enough to fit my gear and gear that I have yet to buy.
The bag has to fit a 70-200mm F2.8 VRii on body, a 50mm prime, a 24-70mm F2.8, a sigma 105mm f2.8 macro, 1 or 2 Sb800 flashes, and some filters and other pieces.
The bags I narrowed it down to are the Tamrac Evolution 8
http://www.tamrac.com/5788.htm
or the bigger version, Evolution 9
http://www.tamrac.com/5789.htm
or the Kata 3n1-30

and finally the 3n1-33

I was hoping someone might have some experience in some of these bags and could maybe let me know how good or bad they are and if they think it could carry my gear, before I go crazy :bonk:

I have the Kata 3n1-30...it'll take all that you want and a bit more.

In mine I have a gripped D7000 with 70-200 VR11 attached. Nikon 24-70, 105mm Macro,50 mm F1.4 G, TCE 2.0 III, my old 18-200 (need to sell it!) and could probably get another lens in the main compartment.

That leaves plenty of room in the top for flashes and anything else in the way of filters etc.

I bought it for the same reason you are looking at it.

Beardy I'm so glad you said that, I honestly didn't think anyone would reply to this post so I jumped in and got the 3n1-33, to be honest didn't know if I'd regret it or not but your comment has made me relieved and excited! Thankyou!
I will let you's know how I find it when it gets here :)!
Ps daza will still take a look at yours as the girlfriends birthdays soon and she needs a bag, can't fault 40quid!

You wont regret getting the Kata. I also have a 3N1 30, and it's an excellent "all day" bag. I often have a gripped 7D with a 70-200 2.8 IS USM attached, with a 24-105L and a Sigma 10-20 in the bag, and although it's a fair weight, with the straps in backpack mode it's very comfy to carry. A quick change to sling mode when shooting and you get easy access, lens changing without taking the bag off and a stable platform to rest your elbows on when shooting. Of course theres plenty of room for batteries, cards, flash etc, and I can get a waterproof and other non photo bits and bobs in the top. I find the tripod pouch useful, I can get my Redsnapper, with ballhead, on the bag no problem.

See I would have got the 3N1-30 but I knew if i didn't get the laptop part there would be a day where I'd need it, just hope its not going to be giant, but really looking forward to getting it as it has some great reviews! If I'm right the Kata bags also seem to have a great reputation for great build quality, suppose you get what you pay for! Only thing I'm not so keen on is the having to pay for the tripod holder, thought that was standard on bags today !

I've got the 3n1-30 and have that lot below stored in mine - the Nikon TC-20EIII & Nikon 35mm f2 in 2 carl zeiss case's - I have my 24-70 attached to the D700 & MB-D10 and still have oooooodles of room left - the top compartment, thats just full of crap :$

So my 3n1-33 arrived yesterday morning first thing, thanks to royal mail doing a smashing job as usual, £1.70 for a big box from the mainland to Northern Ireland and it arrived a day later!
On to the bag, it's simply amazing! It has sooooooo much room and the dividers can be put in so many different ways. The bag looks like something you would expect the army to use, I really can't get over the quality.
Even with the bag fully loaded with laptop and everything it still feel super if the shoulder straps are correctly adjusted.
I am in love with it :]!
