I've got 2 bags at the minute - one tiny bag that i can barely fit 1 camera body and 2 lenses in and i've got a Crumpler Farmers XXXXXL, which is HUGE for me and would easily fit 4 bodys and 10 lenses! (maybe some exaggeration but you understand what i'm saying!) + it's over cabin bag restrictions!!!

I need a bag that will fit in aircraft cabin restrictions, (55 x 40 x 20), but that will fit 2 bodys D700 & D300 both with BatteryGrips (only when going away) and 3/4 Lenses + a few bits (Ipad) drinks! you know just a storage pocket!

I've been looking all over and i can't seem to find anything suitable that's got any sort of sturdyness to it? can anyone recommend a bag for me?

appreciate any help :)

Em xx

p.s I missed the important bit - needs to be a rucksack! Shoulder bags hurt and i'm sorry i'm so picky!

Be careful of the weight. I am sure bigger bags will also weigh more too.

I am looking into this as well as I may go away soon if I can decide on a location.

I've got Flipside 300 and Vertex 200. Flipside 300 would perhaps be too small for you, but the Vertex apparently does fit in airlines just have to watch the weight. Even then you may get away with putting things in your pocket then when you get on the aircraft or into the boarding area you could put them in rucksack.

most airlines done weigh stuff that has camera or laptops inside. its why many smetiems have a handcarry plus a camera or laptop bag or even a handbag with them as they dont count.

Back on topic, try a lowepro fastrack 350.

i got one and its sensational. can fit one camera body and loads of lenses plus a laptop as well and a few bits and bobs. i used it to go philippines last year no problem

i'll have a look for the Vertex one online and see on size! and yea I know re the weight, i've never yet been questioned on weight, but we always fly in jeans and have a hoody around the waist JUST IN CASE! at the minute my oh has an old lowerpro bag with the bottom half as a camera section and the top open, so i've just been wrapping my camera in some clothes and putting it in the top, but i've just upgraded and don't want to risk my new one in that situation!

Just had a look on warehouse express, I like this one, but the with is 24.5 and ryanairs resriction is 20! thats problem i'm having! I usually fly ryanair as it's only my folks that I go to over in spain, so it's cheap and handluggage is free! My parents just moved out to Spain, so it's something that will be used a lot, we need one bag for clothes and one for cameras! I think when you fly further the restrictions get bigger!

Typically, the only bag i've seen suitable so far is a canon bag! and there's no way my Nikons going into the others side!!!!!!

yea i think because those planes are small. on a long flight to say philippines, the restrictions are not too bad as you can bring two hand luggages, one with your usual hand luggage below 7kg limit and another bag with say your laptop and camera which they dont weigh.

Do you live close to jessops or jacobs? pop down their store and see the range of bags they have.

lowepro will no doubt have a bag thatf its your needs as they make 1000's of different bags

Biggest one that will fit in the measuring cage is a Lowepro Computrekker AW Plus. Holds a 17in laptop. If you're carrying a fat laptop, provided you don't pack anything that stands above the dividers and leave the front pocket empty [apart from say paperwork] then it will just squeeze in.

I got the crumpler big cheese, fits all of my gear, and just (pull the straps over the top) fits in the extra faa regulations.
I was flying with 'weight that you can lift unaided' though, think all in I was somewhere aroung 17kg.

I doubt that there is any bag that will take all the equipment that you have listed and comply with the 20cm depth requirement.

I was flying Ryanair earlier in the year and bought a Flipside 300 to meet their requirements but it won't take anything like what you want to carry.

You considered a rolling bag? The thinktankphoto range is fantastic, very geared up for travel, and will save you lots of back pain in the future :)

The airport international v2 is carry on compatible (just!) And basically a tardis. Holds a full two camera kit with room to spare, and the build quality makes you wonder why you ever bought lowepro :)

thanks all - i'm actually very tempted to order the Kata DR465 as it states

'You can easily carry two D/SLR bodies with lenses, three or four spare lenses, a flashgun and accessories in this'

it's only £19.99 on warehouse express at the minute because it's in pink but being of the pink variety that doesn't matter to me!!! BUT i'm wondering if it really will fit 2? has anyone any experience of this bag?

I just had a look and they look lovely! just a bit out of my budget at the minute! I dont wanna spend more than £100 if i can help it!

2 bodies and 2 bodies with battery grips is quite different as they add a lot of height to the body.

ThinkTank is great, can only recommend their bags. :)

You get what you pay for. :) But kata, lowepro and so on are all good

Could you not just fly with easyJet? Their regulations are nowhere near as ridiculous e.g. you get an extra 5cm depth. Went to Ibiza last week with 8 people via easyJet and they didn't check our hand luggage size or weight.

I prefer easyjet! but my folks pay the flight costs and I do asi'm told with them :P xx

I looked into getting one of those, but when it weighs 5kg and the carry-on limit is generally 7kg....:shrug:

Contact the airlines and they shall give you the details you require.

Unlucky your not flying with them, just back from holiday and my camera bag weighed just under half of what my case did :P

Think tank streetwalker hard drive
This. Best bag for hand luggage by a mile IMO (based on what I need of course).

I've used it many times for air travel both in Europe and to America. It will easily hold two pro bodies and a 200-400, along with other bits and bobs. I've even squeezed my 600mm in there once before!

Can't recommend it enough!

Thanks Everyone, I decided to order the Kata DR465 and it's arrived this mornign and is way too small for us both! on the other hand iv'e got myself a new everyday bag for my gear! :) i'm going to go to some shops at the weekend and have a try of some! guess this online shoppings not as easy as it should be and i need to go back to the old fashioned shops!
