Having bought this lens for wildlife I find I am not using it. The main reason is that I normally carry this lens when I am walking my dogs or just out for a couple of hours. Carrying it around my neck is rather painful and awkward. Plus when walking through my estate to get to the fields I seem to attract some unwanted glances.

So the question is this. Is there a bag, probably shoulder strap, that could accommodate my camera and lens? I would only want to carry separate batteries and cards with me so other storage is not essential. While looking less conspicuous walking around. The only one I have seen is the Lowepro outback 200. I am concerned that the tripod mount will not fit in?

Your thoughts and suggestions ate welcome.

Andy

All I can suggest is that you take the rig shopping! You'll pay a bit more on the High Street for a bag but you'll be helping to keep a very useful shop there for the future, you never know when you'll need something that only a proper camera shop carries in stock NOW so use it or lose it.

An alternative would be to get an Optech (or similar) neoprene strap and carry the rig under a coat as you're walking through the estate. That'll keep it away from avaricious and suspicious eyes.

I went to my local outdoor shop and bought the smallest/cheapest rucksack that fitted my 7D + 150-500.

Just make sure it's got decent shoulder straps (comort), it's much cheaper than buying a "Camera Rucksack"

And it doesn't attract attention :)

Thanks for recomending a strap. Hiding it under a coat is ok to a point but not ideal. I take on board peoples suggestions about a ruck sack but i was hoping that a shoulder bag would be available.

I use a fastpack 350 the lens fits nicely alongside my gripped 60d with 70-200 2.8 attached with sigma 17-70, 430ex11, ef50 1.8 and I I feel really strong my laptop slides in the back :-)
