Hi all,

I just wanted to share this video with you:

And just wondered what your thoughts on the video was especially from 1:29?

At 3:00 I just felt he was trying to lift weights!

Were the photographers a bit too upfront or just trying to make sure they 'get the shot'?

MENTAL!
Very wrong indeed!

Refreshing to see one of these videos I've not actually seen before, to be honest it's people like that, that a probably the cause of most wedding photographers trouble with hostile registrars, vicars etc....I suspect some photographers forget they are only an element to a bigger day...

Thats got to be a wind-up. No one with half a brain cell could be so crass ....... could they?.

I've been less invasive photographing event's where this type of photography is expected!

Terrible. I really hope those guys are members here to see my comment at least - please change your shooting style, you guys are ruining the moment for everyone!

When I look at the groom, he looks nervous - I'm actually wondering whether it was the whole idea of being a married man or having photographers all over the place!

A bit off topic -
Has anyone here tried one of those Gary fong flash diffusers?

lol, ive got one of those gary fong bloody things. Pain in the A to assemble, you lose a fair bit of power on the flash as well. As for the video - thats great :D I'm looking at all the other "fails" that appear, like the pro tog who drops his 24-70mm lens "showing how to take off and put a lens on like a pro". Class.

I dont do many weddings these days but all i can say is the priest has the last word in what can be taken during the wedding and most will not allow any flash

i am usually good at persuading them to let me use flash the main one is not thru the vows... but i dont get the continuing movement........ one at the back one at the front and you should be as unobtrusive as possible, some movemnt is ovten required of course but not to that level! most ministers and registrars would send you packing ( and i know of a minister who doesnt allow you int he church during the ceremony at ALL! lol he probably had a photographer like this that put him off

I think that is ridiculous, the amount of moving around and flash would ruin the whole day. I shot a wedding a couple of weeks ago and was told to "keep flash to a minimum". I managed to up the ISO enough to get the shots without it being noisy and only took 2 flash shots before I got a nod from the registrar. Another one I shot I had to stay at the back of the church, facing the B&G, and wasn't allowed any flash during the ceremony. That is a 'perfect example' of how NOT to shoot a wedding.

Nah, I wouldn't be happy with that at all.

The pair of them creeping around like snipers.

You'd hope so , but it seems not to be the case - a celebrant at a wedding i covered a couple of years ago told me about another wedding he'd done where the photographer actually interupted the service to say "excuse me, could you do that bit again, i missed it " :bang:

as matt says nearly every 'nightmare registrar/vicar/priest/ whatever has probably encounter some wuckfit like this previously which goes far in explaining their antphotographer stance.

Spare a thought for the videographer. Where was their second camera?

Locked off at the back only works with full cooperation from the photographer. Even then it's chancy.

Its hard to beleive, but if it is factual, then DAM.
Photographers seem very creepy, moving around like Paps, no respect for the congregation, couple and indeed for the person who was videoing, although i did see a second person videoing from off to the right... The lady photographer looks very amature, no camera or balance control of her camera, i do beleive thay are just hoping for a few lucky shots. I would love to see the finished images...
Thanks for sharing , makes me look good anyway...

This reminds me of a wedding I did some 20 years ago. One of the guests ( a Frenchman) decided he would have a photo from every possible angle from on and around the alter. After 2 or 3 minuets of this. The prest told him in no uncertain terms to leave the church and refused to continue with the service until he did. For all weddings after that he would only allow photographers he new to take photos during the service.

Wow I've only done a couple of weddings but always thought flash was a total no no!

Some more comments, including those from the videographer who posted the video last year asking for advice on airbrushing the togs out

I'm sure the Bride & Groom really treasure that video of their special day.....

I'm no expert, far from it, but that is terrible. What was he trying to accomplish by his lifting the weights technique? lol. I'm sorry but if that was me as the groom he would have gotten a sack tap at that point with my nice shiney shoes.

one shot, look at the lcd, no its crap , another shot , no still crap, and again , nope still rubbish , and repeat - 20 reps, 20 crap shots , oh I forgot to switch it to AF .... scuse me vicar can you do that bit again

Gotta love the way the guy is ducking and diving, as if he's being stealthy!

The female photographer looks familiar for some reason? Was she one of the terrible photographers that were on Judge Judy??

Anyway ... I always feel very pro after seeing crap like this. I'm not a wedding photographer, but have shot a few, and NEVER, got in the way and certainly didnt get up close and personal during the more precious moments of the ceremony.

Is she using a Canon Rebel XTi ? If so she was on judge Joe Brown being slated.
