I am looking for a backup drive for win 10 back/restore & also to back up all my music files & a few other things.
What would you recommend make wise.:)

You really cant go far wrong with any of the big brands, Seagate etc.. You'll hear people tell horror stories about drives failing on every different brand so don't pay too much attention to the bad reviews.

Cheers Craig,i had one before which went belly up,i think it was a WD a while back.:)

I have a seagate 2TB desktop type that cost £69 and is good and fast. I personally feel that the desktop ones are a less likely to fail as they are static whereas the portable ones are bashed around a bit more. I don't know if the actual drives themselves are any different, I doubt it.

As above, I will eventually get another one to backup the backup, but one is better than none for now, and really important files are in the cloud too.

Thanks guys,it is really just for win 10 restore points & a few other files.
I have just done a clean install of win 10 as i was having problems, all seems well now.
I have backed up my new win 10 on a small usb drive i had lying around,so will look around for another one, cheers.:)

Picked up a seagate 2 TB from argos £63,can,t go wrong with that price.:):D:banana:

Cheers for that,all sorted now.:)

Also use as much online storage as you can, hard drives do fail new or old and without warning. Premises can also be affected to where hard drives Could be unreadable. At least, if you use some form of online backup (Flickr,Dropbox,GoogleDrive) they are safe from any sort of disaster on your part. Might take A while to upload if you have slow internet connection but it all runs in background anyway once you set it going.
