What do you peeps think about the lowepro fastpack 200 ? I seem to have spent the last 2 days researching backpacks and its now doing my head in because of the range. Just looking to fit my 550d with two lenses, accessories and possibly a laptop if required although not sure if this one will hold it. Not looking to spend more than £60 if I can help it

I must have owned close to 50 bags over the last four years. It's a never ending struggle for me to find the perfect one. I'm currently sporting a Tamrac Ultra Pro 17 (the second one I've owned!), and a Lowepro Classified 160AW. I've given up on backpacks, as I prefer to travel light if I'm doing a lot of walking.

The best advice I can give, is to find a bag which you can afford, which will fit the required amount of equipment in, and that isn't offensive to your eyes, and then buy it. Simple. The fastpack bags are great value, and you won't go far wrong with one those. I had the 350, and it was absolutely fine.

I've found, for what it's worth, that Kata and Tamrac seem to make the best bags for me. Not sure why that is, but there you go. Most of the big brands make decent enough quality items. There aren't many "bad" bags out there to be honest.

Most backpacks will take the amount of equipment you mentioned, just make sure the laptop section is big enough (screen size) for the laptop you have, and away you go!

I don´t think the 200 version can hold a laptop, so I would recommend the 250. I have the Fastpack 250 and it´s really comfortable and can hold a lot of stuff. The only problem is that its a bit bulky. If you are ok with a shoulder bag the lowepro event messenger 250 can hold the same amount of camera gear (+ laptop) and is much smaller.

I have the Fastpack 250 that I no longer need (got messenger bags for street, need one that can hold tripod for trekking). Will be putting the bag on classified in the next few days, definitely within your budget :)

The 250 is great, it holds a laptop, loads of room for camera gear with quick access and room on top for daily stuff. If I'm not mistaken, x00 can't hold a laptop, you need x50, while first number means the size of the bag.

Send me a pm when you have listed it else I will forget to look, post a pic too as there are different colours. I take it its weather proof

Your best off keeping an eye on ebay for a lowepro as they come up half the price

I use a Lowepro MiniTrekker and it's great - would easily fit in your equipment. Doesn't have a specific Laptop section, but depending on size one would fit in...

I think the Pro Runner are the replacement models...

As has been said Damien though, it is extremely difficult to find the perfect bag - what suits one occasion isn't right for another...
