Hi everyone,

I'm after a backpack but have some specific needs so I'm after any experiences/advice anyone can offer me...

I'll be lugging around my:

D80
18-200mm f/3.5-5.6 VR
35mm f/1.8
Flash
Accessories: SD cards/batteries/chargers/remotes etc.
And occasionally a Manfrotto 055XPROB tripod & 322RC2 head.

I’d also like to a separate padded section for a laptop (no bigger than 15.6”) that I’m getting soon.

However I travel pretty much everywhere by motorbike and so am after something completely waterproof – where I live it tends to rain infrequently but very hard! A waterproof cover would be OK as long as it was part of the bag (otherwise I know I’d lose it…:bang:)

So if anyone has anything remotely similar/has any ideas I’d be very grateful :)

Cheers,
Paul.

Kata 3 N 1 30 would fit your bill nicely I think......

Thanks for the suggestions Chaz, the Adventure 9 looks pretty much what I'm after. Do you happen to know if they are waterproof or just water resistant - I can't seem to find the info on their site....

One thing I'd say is always buy a bit bigger then you need... you'll inevitably buy more gear and you'll fill it quickly...

Good point, the "wish-list" seems to grow every week!!

You'll have enough room to fit the bike in as well ;) .. Have you looked at the Lowepro AW Mini Trekker - just another "backpack" to add to your list as that has the "rain cover" attached & a tripod holder...

Un-like me - as I ended up down-sizing my equipment after buying a larger bag

Hi Trig's, no, I hadn't seen the Mini Treker AW before, though it doesn't seem to have a laptop compartment.....Having a look at their website it seems they do a few all weather laptop/camera bags so will see if any look like what I'm after.

Right, thanks for all the suggestions, I'm off to bed, have to meet a friend early tomorrow morning at the train station.

Night all!
