Hello,

I'm after some recommendations for a background support. Its going to be used for occasional indoor shoots. I currently have a number of fabric backgrounds, but may one day use paper or vinyl, it depends on if I can get into studio lighting.

I've seen some cheap ones on the flea bay and some expensive ones in the shops. Lencarta do one for about 70 something quid.

I'm not made of money and any money that I do save will be put to use on other items of studio equipment.

Thanks

I think its going to be a toss up between the amazon one and the lencarta one, given the prices. There are much cheaper ones on ebay but I think they will be really poor quality.

If it's any help, the Lencarta one has air damped stands that can also be used as light stands (obviously not at the same time) and will go up higher than you'll need them too, which means that you can put them right up to the ceiling, which stops them from being pulled over. The width is also adjustable in the sense that you can remove either one or two of the four pieces that make up the top bar.

I went for the Lencarta stand in the end, ordered yesterday and arrived today.

Very happy with the carrying bag, not as flimsy as I expected.

The poles are nice and chunky with good connections. The adjusters are nice and big and the stands are of a nice quality. It certainly seems sturdy enough.

Overall very happy with the quality and finish, although there is a plastic clip on each of the stands which I don't know what they are for.

Nor do I:) Just goes over the thread, I suppose that some people like little finishing touches like that though
