Background support and paper

I jus bought the interfit 3 background wall support and a roll of 2.72m White paper from lastolite. Do I have to run a metal pipe through the paper or is this all I need?

Never used Lastolite rolls, but if they have reasonable card cores (which I expect they should) you will be OK to use the 'expan' type units with those on there own.

I have the interfit ones and if they are anything similar the knobs at the end with the wee expansion thingy is all you need, you expand it to the width of the roll of paper at end and then it just sits on the bracket. Mine are up a year and haven't fallen yet!!!!

Core is normally supportive enough. Especially for a company like Lastolite.
