background colour swap

Not sure about tutorials, but if it’s a consistent background it should be fairly straightforward to use the <select ><colour range> option to mask out the background so that you can see a white filled layer beneath it.

Its an image very similar to this one. The wife would like a plain white background added so she can get it onto a canvas. If anyone can tell me exactly what to do i would appreciate it. Cheers...

I'd say that'll be more difficult. It'll be especially difficult to realistically replicate the shadow areas between the legs and floor.
Gorgeous dog though, and a lovely shot with a background that complements her/him beautifully.

I loaded it into Photoshop Elements, used the Quick Selection tool to select the dog plus shadows, inverted the selection, then used the Bucket tool to fill the background with white. I was surprised that the result was this good. Something like this might work if you're prepared to be extra careful doing the selection and do some tidying up afterwards. You'll notice that I left the copyright message in place but that could do with some tidying up, or a colour change.

Think it will alway look like a cut out with no shadow, as above white background is the answer, but great original image, nice exposure!

I cant help with the pp but my wife is on her way to your house to hug the dog. It would be in our bed insted of me.lol

Cannot add much.. but why do you want to alter what is a very very good photo..
