I have 3 flashguns (580EX and 2 540EZ) with 3 lightstands, 1 umbrella and necessary connectors on the way.

I just need a white backdrop but I don't know which one to buy. I'm just planning to stick the backdrop on the wall with a curtain rod.

Help advice needed.

Thank you

Or you could go to a fabric store where you can get it a lot cheaper. Dunelm is pretty good, just get some heavy stuff.

i started with black out materal from dunelms very cheap and heavy duty, only a couple of quid a meter, i put it on a plastic plumbing pipe which kept it crease free. i now use vinal or paper depends show much space i have.

A bit of ggogling for Dunelm/s shows a lot of websites. Can you please point me in the right direction, and of which one to get. Sorry I don't really know anything about backdrops and cloths.

If possible (cheap) I want a crease free, thick and washable one.

Cheers

Large TROJAN?

when I click your link my antivirus says its a trojan:gag:

I went to my local fabic dealer this afternoon and looked at their muslin fabric. It was very thin and you can see whats on the other side of the cloth.

I've read somewhere here (though I can't find it now) that vinyl is better.

So please I need more comparison between backdrops used.

I'm also looking at this one on ebay. Is it the same one as the one linked above?

Sorry for being so thick but I really have no clue.

Vinyl has the advantage of being smooth, so it doesn't need a lot of overexposure to get it white (if that's what you want to do with it). You can also wipe it clean. Apart from the cost, the main disadvantages are bulk (you can't fold it up) and weight. If you want vinyl, try signmakers, they use it all the time and will usually sell it for much less than photographic dealers.

I have the Lencarta one you linked to. Like all the others, you can see through it but that isn't necessarily a bad thing because you can light it from behind if you want to. And if it was thicker you probably wouldn't be able to get it in the washing machine...
