hi

long time - not been on TP....:shake:

been suffering from depression for months now, and haven't even picked up a camera
combined with a fall resulting in damaged biceps tendon,
means have not been working

have decided to stay with the Nikon digital for my favourite - landscapes

listing all my film cameras and lenses for sale on TP next week.
really enjoyed the film for it's own sake, but need to concentrate on one aspect of the hobby i think and stay focussed [groan]

atb...................john

Welcome back John!
Good to see you feeling a little better.

It was depression plus an injury that got me more into photography :) I used it to take my mind off of other things that were going on in my life. Good to see you are coming through and getting back to something you love. And you're right, keep it simple, it is supposed to be enjoyable, not a chore ;)

Welcome back John, I hope things are good for you at the moment.

As a sufferer of PTSD plus physical pain for which I am awaiting a Deep Brain Stimulation operation :help: I know what it's like when depression hits and saps one of the will to do anything.

I'm just counting the days until the clocks move forward and we are in the clutches of Spring.

Several people on the forum are or have fighting back from an assortment of illnesses and injuries and are finding photography a big help in their journey.

If budget allows, might I suggest a decent compact (plenty around) to keep on you as much as possible - far more portable than any DSLR/MFT/CSC and even a crappy little P&S will take a better picture than a DSLR when it's the only camera you're carrying!

This is a great bit of advice Nod.

I haven't looked back since I purchased my Lumix LX5. It goes everywhere with me and, for its size, takes excellent pictures.

clear skies forecast for Thursday

although it's minus 4, maybe I'll try to drag myself from under the lecky blanket - and get some dawn shots

maybe.................:lol::lol:

John I too suffer from the dreaded depression and have been some dark places in the mind. Take solace in the fact there are many of us.
I'm off to hospital a week today for a shoulder repair on my main use arm. I went and got myself an Olympus om-d to tide me over. I've been struggling to handle the 1d3 for a long time. I have to have a month of work, I intend to make the best of it.

Welcome back John, sorry you've been feeling down in the dumps but so glad you feel lifted at the moment ... keep on togging :D

Glad you hear you're feeling better John.

Glad to see you back, John, hopefully you will get the taxi out as well as the camera.
