Well, film has been a relatively new thing. Got a Nikon F80 last year to play with film (after having an FE). Had decided to sell it to raise funds for my X100 just purchased (and having bought a Rolleicord), as it seemed pointless having it! Well, just got some film developed at AG and realised how much I like it. It was only Superia in, and have Portra in now, but will try to use it more.

Anyway, only holiday and playtime snaps... There is something really nice (and nostalgic) about film.

So that's what you look like !

I agree about the nostalgia - I still get the odd roll developed but I used to love being hands on with the whole process from pressing the shutter through developing and printing. I can still recall the smells.

If I didn't have 4 kids I'd love to give a room up to indulge myself but much as I'd love to it's just not practical.

Nice shots...if I was a digital shooter it would bore me (as an amateur) as I would just machine gun and sit in front of a computer and sift through to the shot I liked. Mind you I do take more than one shot of children\grown ups on film as I'm very unlucky as quite a few times their eyes blink at the same time as I press the shutter button.

Simon, so glad you're enjoying you experience. Careful...I got back into film about a year ago. Love it so much my camera hoard is growing almost monthly, anyway...back to the Classifieds...and put some Velvia through the Rollei...

Great set, and yes....there is something special about film that keeps us all coming back to it.

Technically I'd say there great, film, digital or even carved in stone! Well done.

Did you get them scanned by Ag as well? Expensive high or affordable normal settings?

I feel your pain we only live in a little 2up 2down and the loo was my make do darkroom for about 12 years tried the loft but could not keep the temp a stable 20 (Man it was hot) I miss the whole process the feel the smell the thrill of seeing the image appear but the mrs said no more. :(

Nice images. Somehow... despite years of trying... nothing can replicate the look of film adequately for me. I still shoot it. I've just loaded a Nikon FM3a with some C41 actually... just to have a play this weekend.

I still have a lot of film cameras - Nikon F5, FM3, FM2, Bronica RB67 and my venerable Linhoff Karden 45S. Love 'em!

I really need to shoot more film, especially as I have access to free C41 and E6 processing... and scanning with a Flextight X5! I really need to pull my finger out. To have access to all that, and to not use it probably makes a lot of people in here want to scream at me I can imagine... and I'd deserve it.

Do you, deep down, secretly lust for a GS-1/SQ-A? :D

and yes, I would be screaming!

Certainly does lol, I do underuse the facilities in my college (as a student) but would be glued to the scanner if we had an X5!

I used to own a SQ-Ai. Lovely camera. The RB is just a better studio camera, and when I did shoot film only (pre-digital) I only really used 120 in the studio. If not, I'd probably have a SQ/GS over the RB.

If not, I'd probably have a SQ/GS over the RB.

I went from a Bronica ETRS to a Mamiya RB67. I think that if I had the funds for an SQ and bouight one instead of the ETRS, I wouldn't have bothered with the RB67.

Steve.

lol...I had to google X5...thought it was a car.

Actually it costs more than my car.... and I would rather own one than its BMW namesake :)
