Hi All!

I'm finally back from South Africa... and unfortunately I'm in the flood zones happening around the UK.

I've started transferring the photos to my HDD and i'm a little disapointed with the quality of some of these photos.

As some of you may know from my previous thread, I have some dust on the sensor and it shows up in only a couple of photos.

Anyway, lots of the animal pictures seem to be blurred/out of focus... and fuzzy around the edges.

A bit disapointing, but still - the memories remain :-)

Can you recomend any software to use that I can make a DVD to send to family. I want it to have a menu so you can either "play all" or select scenes.. such as "Kruger National Park", "Hazyview", "Pilgrims Rest" etc.

I'll post photos soon.

Tkae care!

BTTT :)
I dunno, but I'm sure someone else here will.
BTW will the DVD need to be played back on the TV via DVD player or on a PC?

You on a Mac or a PC Amnesia... or can't you remember :):)

I use Pro-Show Gold for converting images to DVD (sure ther are other packages, but I find this easy to use), drag and drop your images, add a few title pages, background music and hey presto a DVD that can be used on a PC of DVD player.

Be a great way to record your trip and send the images to friends and family etc....

Have you tried Windows movie maker? I use it and find its simple but effective

I recommend Pro Show Gold - idiot proof and great results.

I'd recommend PSGold too, and I sell photo shoots of weddings & portraits on it. Don't bother with the 'Producer', the next one down is the one to have IMO

Easy to use (easier on the latest version as it accepts more music file types, and has some cool multiple slide effects); you can also override the default resolution to up it to HD

I'd strongly recommend anyone using this sort of software to put (as a PS Action) a border around their shots prior to setting up the DVD, then choose the PSG background to be the same colour as your photo's borders. This avoids images appearing to touch the top & bottom of the TV screen on some different formats

As most of my kiddie shots are on a white background, I use a white background for the DVD too and it looks like they were shot in a huge studio!

It's also easy to have multiple shows on 1 DVD, and to number all the images too if you expect anyone to want a copy as a print

Good luck

David
