Back from Cyprus, heard a great comment while away!

I got back from a fantastic 10 day holiday in Cyprus on Thursday night. Did a fair bit of sightseeing so will hopefully have lots of photos to share once I've gone through them.

One particular day we were at the top of an old fort in Paphos. The views were magnificent, looking over the harbour and the town itself. Soon we were joined by a man with a D-SLR and his girlfriend / wife. She immediately commented at the wonderful view and told her chap that he should take some photos of it. His comment cracked me up.....

"OK then love, stand over there and get yourself in the shot. There's no point in just taking photos of the scenery, I can buy a bloody postcard for that!"

Oh how I laughed :lol:

Even better, when Beverley pointed out another lovely view to me, I jokingly made the same comment in a p*ss taking voice, not realising that, by now the guy was standing right next to me :help: :nono:

Many years ago when I worked in a camera shop, we used to offer a developing & printing service. As we were close to Chinatown in Manchester, we used to get loads of Chinese customers, and you could practically guarantee every landscape or building shot would include the wife/girlfriend in the foreground, and usually right in the middle of the picture. So it appears they have the same thinking as the above photographer.
 
That's why peeps bought 17mm lenses for their 35mm film cameras: so they could "do" Europe with every snap featuring their travelling partner with something large and historic in the background.

Actually I've still got most of my shots from Skomer to go through as well :suspect: Damn, Photoshop is going to get a bashing this week lol

Yeah it was great thanks Chris. So bloody hot though :eek:

I was taking photos some days with sweat dripping off my elbow lol
