My other halve's aunt has just had her first baby, a right little cutie, and I have said I will do some photos for her.
I took some at the hospital which to me were just snap shots, but she is over the moon with them, but I would like to do something much better for her now that she is home.
I have never shot (photographed) a baby before so any advice would be great.
I have only used studio lights for portraits, but I think that will be a bit too full on and invasive in her home, so will be picking up a shoot through umbrella and bracket to use with my flash.
What Is the ideal age for the typical baby shot? I have heard 3 weeks mentioned before but not too sure.
I really like the shots I have seen here and elsewhere with baby wearing a knitted hat, so will keep an eye out for one.
Is there anything else anyone can suggest or general tips that will make working with a baby a bit easier?
I know anything I come out with she will be delighted with, but I really want to do something special.
