Karen, you do as you please, its your neck on the line no one elses. Working the photography as you've detailed "No Fee, Pay for prints they want" should ensure all clients are happy to spend what they do. if they're not happy with your work they've paid nothing. IMO a very safe and smart way to start off. Good luck with it all.

The biggest thing I noticed about the photos was the reflection of the photographer in the eyes. The next stage of your learning would be to work out how to angle yourself so you are not seen.

Photoshop is not really the answer!
