Hi all

I was thinking of producing some monochrome slides.

Does anyone know what films I need to use and which labs can process it for me to produce monochrome slides.

There is a process for reversing b&w negs during development, can't remember what exactly it's called but a bit of searching will reveal all. I

Its called 'DR5 Chrome', and it lets you produce true B&W slides from most B&W films.

The ones that will process O.K in it are listed in the link above, make sure though that you read the individual description page of film you want to use (on that page) as many will not quite reach full speed etc so use the recommended speed on the films page.

I have done one roll in it (Tri-X at ISO 320 as they recommended), but because of the high cost of postage to and from the USA it came to about £22 just for the one roll (I would save up a few rolls before sending them so to reduce the postage costs) so I don't know if I would use it again. They were quite high contrast (I shouldn't have used an orange filter like I usually did at the time with B&W), but did look quite good. I'll post a few up later.

Seems to be a reversal kit and film at Silverprint

I also tried cross-processing black and white C-41 (Kodak BW400) in E6 chemistry, the results were quite interesting.

Yes they came out as slides, but with a heavy orange/green colour cast. Rather dense as well, but it is cross-processing and I was experimenting with expired film and chemistry. The results could be better with practice.
